My husband and I bought our first home with a VA loan that he earned while serving in the Army. Being able to purchase a home with 0% down was huge for our family. It would have been years before we would have been able to save up the down payment to buy a home. Instead, we were able to reap the benefits of homeownership and provide our stability for our family, a great neighborhood with good schools for our kids to grow up in, and benefit financially.
